College Infrastructure

The College has a campus area of 3.74 acres housed in two imposing two storied buildings and a single storied building with a sprawling green play ground in the middle of the campus. The buildings comprising twenty- one (21) class rooms four (04) Laboratory, one central library building and six (06) administrative rooms including one for Netaji Subhas Open University Study Centre, one for NSS unit, one for BBA section and one for COP courses. Classes of COP courses and NSOU Study Centre are held in the general class rooms after the usual class hours and on holidays and Sundays. Apart from that one gymnasium is also the part of our college. The Central Library consists of the lending section as well as the reading room. Among the office rooms one is meant for the Principal, one for Teachers’ Common Room, one for Students’ Union office and two have been provided for Girls’ Common Room and Boys’ Common Room. During this year college constructed separate science block. The college also established LAN connection between various departments and the library. The college has also taken Broad-band internet connection with six (6) terminals including one in each of Geography department, Library, B.B.A. computer laboratory, Computer Science department, Faculty Common Room & Principal’s Chamber. 

There are fourteen (14) full time teaching staffs and fourteen (14) Guest Lecturers and eight (08) lecturers on contract service in different departments as per the details given separately and sixteen (16) teaching post and six (06) non-teaching post are still vacant in which requisition for staff had been sent to Govt.

The institute plans to extend the existing building within the near future for housing and auditorium. The college has classrooms, separate laboratory for Geography, Physics, Chemistry & Computer Science each. The college has separate library building along with reading room facility and some more classrooms and also a full-fledged multi-gymnasium with the fund from the local MLA and MPs. The college authorities have already applied to them for financial assistances.

Despite many constraints, the college is trying hard to provide modern technological aids for knowledge and enhancement with the help of UGC fund. The institute has purchased a photocopy machine and an overhead projector, a TV set a public address system and video cassette recorder etc for the benefit of the students. The process of computerization of the library has already been started. The college also introduced new software for complete automation in official and academic tasks. The members of two office staffs are encouraged to achieve computer skill while giving them flexible work scheduled and financial support. The institute has internet facility with six (06) terminals for the staff and students. A website has been launched in 2006 for providing information about the college. The website has been revised and replaced in 2009. The combined efforts will help to build an image of the institution.
